Went out to the Kansas River around the Lawrence area Friday before that wind storm hit. Used live shad this time instead of cut. Caught a 6 pound channel cat. Threw large gobs of night crawlers and caught a 17 pound flathead out of the same hole. It was in the 8'-10' deep water. Didn't catch one turtle! YES!! I released both fish, but did take pictures on my cell phone. As soon as I can figure out how to download them from my phone I will post! It was a great outing!:smile2:

Thad, when looking at the pic on your phone hit the button that pulls up your options, then one of them should say something like send to phone, instead of a phone number type in your email address. It takes a little time, but type it in exactly as your email address is, even the @ symbol, then hit send. Check your email anywhere from 5-30 min later, and it should be in there. Then copy and save it and post them here. I used to use my cell to take pics of fish all the time before I had a digital camera, and this is how I did it. Good luck.

WTG on the fish. As for uploading pictures, you need to send them to your email via pic msging on your cell. Then save picture.. make a reply and go down to "manage attachments" then browse to find it. Right click it, choose "Select" and then close out the attachment window. It should be ready.

In all honesty....that is only the second flathead I have caught on worms in my life. Usually, it's live bait. I was more surprised by the size of the flathead. But, it's always nice to catch fish on worms. It just shows us that Dads and Grandads were really tellin the truth!:smile2:

Great job on the fish man. Nice releasing them too. Can't wait to see your pics. Sounds like you got enough advice on how to do it. Sounds real similar to the way i send pics to email, so git r done! Congrats on a productive outing.

Back years ago, my father in law insisted that we try to eat this snapping
turtle that we caught. Butchering that critter was harder than it was
worth since neither of us knew how to get that job done easy. Almost
got out the power tools. Tasted okay, but I still think that its probably
best just finding a big enough kettle to boil it then simmer for a day
or two rather than frying it up. Made me feel like talking to a Cajun.
