well its just a baby but at least its a flathead. the only problem is i was trying to catch a turtle. oh well at least it broke the ice for me. been out 8 or 9 times this year and this is my first, so he coulda even been smaller than this and id still be happy.

Congrats on the first of the year. I got first of the year a couple of days ago, and it just happened to be my personal best. 24lbs 10oz.

well went out tonight and did a little better with a nice little 22# flathead. me and ducain went out today eve though we thought we would get pounded by rain. we did realy well. we each caught a couple 2 or 3 pound stripers, ducain landed a couple nice smallies. and then we started catfishing. water temp was 61* we were using cut shad, either a shad head or just a chunck. around 9:15 the action started. first a couple dead runs. then a pole i pretty much dropped over the edge of the boat started to move, well i hooked the fish and while ducain was helping me land my fish, both of his poles had small runs and then quite. he set the hook on one and reeled in first a fishing pole and then a 3# flat. he thought his other pole was snagged but then it started fighting and he land a 8# flathead. so not to bad of a night.
