It's been nearly 2 months since my last trip to the TN River, and I finally made it back up there yesterday. My Dad and Brother both bailed on me, but I decided to make the solo trip for some needed R & R, and I'm glad I did. No huge fish this time, but it was still a good trip. I spent about 14 hours fishin', from about 6 Saturday evening until about 8 this morning. I only caught 6 fish the first 8 hours, but I caught 10 fish the last 6 hours, when I was tryin' to get a little sleep (didn't get much sleep ). In all it was 16 fish, 14 blues and 2 channels, and the biggest was a 27 lb. blue. Almost all were quality fish though, only the 2 channels were under 10 lbs. Total weight was approx. 240 lbs. of cats. The fish still seem to be in a summertime pattern, and the water temps are still in the mid 70's. Most of the fish were caught in 20 ft. of water or less and all were caught on cut bream. My 81 yr. old Grandmother (Mawmaw) wanted some fish, so I kept 4 of the smaller blues to fillet (kept a couple for myself too ), which was still a lot of catfish. So, I got some relaxing peaceful alone time with an interruption every once in a while by a nice catfish and some fresh fillets too. I can't wait to do it again. Here are some pics of a couple of the biggest fish.

Bumper, you still topped us! We actually did not get home until 1 am Monday; caught several more Flatheads though. I had a monster that wrapped me on something sharp and cut the line

Anyway, glad you had an action packed night! Thanks for the photos.

Marc, I can't believe you're letting the "fall small cats" get a jump on you. Better get busy!

That is a super nice trip. Those solo trips (that are successful) are the best. Nothing but piece and quiet and the occasional exciting moment. I am looking forward to some nights on the river this winter. I know that it will be a nice change of pace for me.

Congrats and good luck in the future
