Finally got a carp bowfishing!

    I finally bowfished my first common carp. the water visibilty was TERRIBLE and i shot this guy at the very end of the day. he was just over 13 pounds. he put up a fight, thats for sure. im DEFINITELY going to do some more bowfishing.

    i felt bad just wasting the fish so i decided to chunk out the filets for cutbait. :big_smile:

    Congrats. Love the fight carp put up. I use mine for bait to, or give 'em to a cat food place.

    Sounds like fun! Ive seen alot of carp in my area but never caught one. ive heard that they make good bait because the skin is tougher and stays on the hook better. I also had a neighbor who said they make good fertilizer for gardens:0a5:...

    everyone ive talked to that bowfishes out here uses their carp as fertilizer for compost heaps. they say it works really well. i just dont think i could handle a big stinky pile of fish in my yard... not too sure the nighbors would appreciate it either.:smile2:

    i went bowfishing on sunday and shot 35 carp while wading the shallows. my smallest was probable 10 pounds. i guess im getting the hang of this thing.:wink:
