i have been searching for the last couple of years for some 12/0 j-hooks that i didnt have to take out a loan at the bank to buy. i found a box of 25 mustad big guns last year on ebay for a decent price( had to order them from australia). i was getting low on them so i started my search again. i couldnt find the same ones but i did find some other mustad hooks for under a $ a piece. they are called big game hooks. i got them in the mail today. now either those hooks i got last year were not 12/0 or these are 20/0. these freaking things are huge!! at first i thought these would be way too big but after thinking about it i believe i'll use them this fall and use the biggest bait i can find to put on them. anyway here are a couple of pics of them. i put them up next to a couple different objects so you can guage just how big these things are.

I use those for fishing alligators. I have caught one that was 12'4" on a 12/0 so you shouldn't have any catfish straighten it out.lol:smile2:

Look on the bright side, no need to add a sinker. Also, if you lose your anchor, tie one of those on.
One word of caution, some folks like to put a hook into their ball cap, wouldn't try that with these.

Those are some biggun's, but if you really think about it a 5lb flathead could easily get that in his mouth and a 10lb blue probably could as well. If you're using bait any larger than your hand you almost need a hook that big.

    Keith,
Those are some serious hardware! It'll take a bunch of those little skips to fill one of those. We had better get you fixed up with some of those 18+ inchers so you can cut yourself a fillet worthy of your new weapons...W

Hey,I was looking at the same hooks. They would work great on limblines or stump sets.Need big bait though.(the bigger the bait the bigger the fish)I would'nt use anything but live bait on those hooks.
