33 lb. channel, too bad I thought it was a blue (someone nearby told me so and I didn't question it). Turns out it was a lake record for sure and within 3 1/2 lbs of the state record. It was a great fish, just a little dissapointed that I didn't know. That won't happen again. :cursing: I'll try to get pictures up soon.

Congrats on a great fish! You know, I wonder how many other big channels have been called blues. I heard so many stories from my home lake about people catching nice blue cats but it turns out there aren't any blue cats in there. The 30lber that I caught a few weeks ago could have easily been mistaken for a blue. In fact, I had to count the rays on the anal fin to be sure. If I hadn't known how to identify it, I would have called it a blue because you don't expect to catch a channel that big. When I caught mine I was using bluegill and thinking flatheads, what were you using for bait and were you after channels.
