A while back I had read an article in the Fayetteville News-Observer about feral hog hunting in Johnston County, NC. I have tried to find out more information about this and could not dig up anything. I've talked to several Johnston County Sheriff's who could not shed any light on the apparent problem. Anyone heard anything about this?

The state stocked some pigs down in the mashes some years ago. I dont know much about it other then some big ones have come out of there that I hear about once in a blue moon and I live right close to the mashes.

These were not intentionally stocked - just domesticated pigs that got loose. The hogs were tearing apart farmers crops and the river bottom. I wish I had kept the article about it.
