This just struck me as too sureal to fathom. When Leia told me this, I was stunded for a short time.

My baby sister, Lesia and her husband raise BOAR goats. For those who don't know, that is a breed of goat. They are used for food and for competition showing.

One of the goats on their place, goat name Zues, was a retired champion of champion show goat valued at over $10,000. For some reason, Zues died. Now here is where it starts getting interesting.

Lesia runs into the house and comes out with a sharp knife. Now lesia is telling me all this in a restaurant yesterday. Anyway, she runs over to Zues, grabs his nut sack and cuts it off in one swipe!.

With sack in hand, she calls the Vet and asks how to keep it alive. So they tie off the chords with dental floss and pack it in a small cooler with ice packs then call Fedex.

Lesia, "I have a package that must be shipped urgently!" Fedex lady, "Whats in the package?" Lesia hesitates then says,"Biological."

Lady, "What type?" Lesia, "Body parts." Lady, "WE DON'T SHIP BODY PARTS! What kind of body part?" Lesia hesitates, "A scrotum."

Lady, " OH MY GOD!" Lesia, "Switch me to your supervisor."

Supervisor comes on line and asks, " How may I help you?"

Lesia, a little frustrated now, "I have a scrotum from a champion goat that just died. I have to get it to a lab in Dallas so the sperm won't die!"
Supervisor, " OOOooh Kaayyye. Well, we ship human hearts so I don't see why we can't ship a scrotum. Bring it in."

The package arrived in Dallas early the next morning. The lab salvaged 250 "straws" of semen. At $100 a straw, that is $2500 from a dead goats nut sack. Only in America!!!

    Robert

I see nothing greedy in what she did. Developing and raising quality animals is costly and costs are offset in different ways.

It would've been a shame to loose the potential of continued development with his line.

I think most of us would agree that being asleep, or dead, is the preferred options to this procedure. Jack.
