Sliced the first of the Cherokee Purples tonight....Absolutely DELICIOUS !!!! Sweet and tart...They sure looked ugly on the windowsill though...
Mine haven't bloomed yet. I was concerned the soil might be to hard. The johnsons are almost ripe but the Cherokee's are still only a foot or two tall. Any advice? Thanks!

First I ain't eat'n noth'n called a german johnson! lol:Nop:
I don't think I could live with out tomatoes, they have a texture and taste that exemplifies my existence. Juicy yet firm, sweet and savory at the same time, always sprinkled with salt and never ever aloud to get cold. There is some unknown element in them that holds my cells together a type of glue, that if absent in my body for a long period of time would cause me to literally fall apart. I plant celebrity, marglobe, jetstar and early girl with an occasional beef steak or cherry along side. I couldn't say any one type was my favorite, that would be like trying to pick a favorite star out of the night sky, so I will just say my first ripe one of the year...

Epsom Salt ( magnesium sulfate) will put a damper on the blossum end rot. When i put my plants out i put a dab in the hole and a couple times a year while hoein', and that issue went away. Actually it's good for all plants as far as i can tell.
