I'm sure if any of you are like Steve I'll probably get lynched for even bringing this up.

BUT...just curious what other types of fishing everyone does (if any).

I love to catfish, but trout fishing (fly rod only of course) might be the greatest thing God put on this great earth. Maybe its bc I could go catfishing everyday if I wanted to and only get to go trout fishing 5-6 times a year that makes me like it so fun to me.

#2 type of fishing for me is pike/muskie. Those things get massive and fight harder than anything I've ever caught...I think its the headshakes that do it for me.

Heres a few pics of my biggest non catfish catches.

(ok that last one isnt me, but its the world record rainbow trout. caught up in canada on 4 lb test on a tiny little spoon! Looks like a football with fins)

I am a die hard fisherman. If it has fins and will bite a hook i'll try and hook it. My favorite beside cats would have to be Smallmouth and Crappie. I'm really starting to get into carp. Man do them things fight!!

I love to bait fish for bluegill, but I have to say one of my favorite things to do is throw the castnet at a dam for shad. I love it when an onlooker or a child sees guys fishin over the wall and their eyes widen as I haul up a whole netful in one throw!

I did go crappie fishin once, and they tasted good.
Nowhere close to the thrill of a big cat though.

Besides catfish; bluegills, crappie, white bass and wipers. I used to fish
for largemouth bass, but decided that there were enough folks fishing for
them besides me that they didn't have much of a chance to get big. I like
largemouths, don't get me wrong. Good fight, good in the pan and a major
predator of small to medium baitfish. Just seems like everybody is taking
them and they don't seem to take the pressure that well. Leaves me out.

I fish for bait some and love Crappie and White Bass fishing ALMOST as much as catfishing, but nothing puts up a fight like a big hawg of a cat. Slowly losing interest in crappie and bass though. I've bought four new catfishin poles this year and thats almost all I do lately is chase the dream of being the one to catch the new state record.
GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN FISHIN'!!!:cool2:

I really like catching panfish (bait) on an ultra light rig. I do it even when I am catfishing. It keeps me busy while the big poles are waiting on a hit.
