I have just tstarted using circles. Because I use rod holders I am not tempted to set hook.
    I am using 8 o circle.
What are some favorite choices of hooks for both cut and live bait?

Gamakatsu 8/0 octopus. I use them in the rod holder as well, just let the rod load up and you're good to go.

Most of my catfish are eaters that weigh about 1 to 4 lbs. So my vote goes for the Gamma' # 4/0 Octopus and the gamma' 5/0 circle.

I've sent for some team catfish action hooks and will give 'em a try.

I do like the strength and sharpness of the Gamakatsu hooks.

well its a hard call, the teams hold more bait and hookup better but thats just my limited experance,i think there the same you get a ten ot gamma its like a 8 ot team doble action they hold more bait more hook exposed but gamms are way more pushed on the market and cheaper than teams, but i like teams so far, but ive yet to try em for blues, they hookup well for flatheads on livebait
