i think most people will say shad but i personaly like cut chubs, river chubs are are big ang make alot of bait but i cant always find them, creek chubs i have a unlimited supply off and are easily caught so it doesnt matter ether way.

Anyone use the frozen cut shad that you buy from Ma & Pa bait stores and have any luck with it? This cut bait is a whole new experience for me......

Bluegills and Sunnies are the easiest for me to get so thats what I use the most, and they work great.

I use shad, crappie, & whitebass, but my favorite is cut sucker. The cut sucker seems to bring in the bigger channel cat especially this time of year.

What I found to work the best for channels is fresh mackeral. It is really oily fish.

Caught seven channels this afternoon on freshly netted gizzard shad. I use bream a lot, and crappie is GREAT!! Believe it or not, and the bass fishermen need not read any further, but largemouth bass fillets will them too!

Shad, skipjack & bluegill. I like the section with the guts in it. Then the heads are next.

Bluegills are really easily accessed by me too, so that's what we use.
