Had a good night tonite, almost got my goal of the year. Im shooting for a 20# channel. Kinda put Flatheads to the side for awhile, but Ill take one if I get em. Had my favorite setup out tonite, yes a Kat Bobber and perch, lol. Kinda slow for about an hour or two, but I finally got a 6.1# blue. So I didnt get skunked. I decided to move about 100 yards and set up again. Got my two poles out, one on the bottom and one floating. This time I was useing shad. Wasnt but about five minutes and the Kat Bobber shoots under water and my pole about got ripped out of the stake holder, but I caught it. Its pretty much pitch black, except my visor light. All can hear is drag peeling off. Finally I get it up near the bank and I see the swirl. It was a big Channel cat. I jus got a digital camera not long ago, but I didnt want to jus take a picture of the fish by itself, so I woke my wife up and asked her if she would come take a picture of us together. She said she would, she is the best wife. So I put the fish on a stringer and ran to the house to pick her up and do the deed. So here it is a 17.8# Channel which was 35", and a 6.1# blue. Sorry to drag out the story, but I was excited. Scratch another one for the Fat Kat. Finally there is a picture of the CPR.

    Des Allemands,
I see the Channel swam away, but if it were me, that blue woulda been dinner. BTW, I believe there is nothing wrong with taking a big fish if someone desires, some folks do not realize that it's usually not the monsters that sustain the fishery, but the younger mature fish. Either way, congrats!!!!

If I had called my wife in the middle of the night to take a picture of a fish it would have made a trip to the OH necessary cause I know where she'd have put that fish:eek:oooh::smile2::smile2:

Good catch, nice cats, too! My wife is great, but definitely would put me on the stringer if I'd done that:smile2:
