what do u look for to find the crappie in the fall?
I was told by a guy out on the water to look for structure around 12-15' deep this weekend. But the water them is in the high 60's here.

Hello, everybody, hope all is well. Do you need a boat to target crappie. I mostly fish from the bank.

As the water temps cool down into the 50's crappie will start to school up and normally this is the time you can really catch them escp. the larger ones. Look for brush piles or structure, in or around a creek channels is even better normally anywhere from 10 to 15ft of water but sometimes as deep as 20. Today when i was fishing for bait i caught one about ten inches which isnt bad for my lake i let him go to get bigger.
    Dont catch em' all!
