As fall is fast approaching and waters cooling do you increase size of bait, decrease, or same size as normal. Or do you switch baits? Thanks in advance!!

I generally don't change much until the water temps drop at least below 50. Then as a general rule downsizing baits and hook size will increase your hookup %. That being said i can't resist having at least one big bait out there year round.

I stick with bussiness as usual. The strikes in the fall with the cooler water are much harder with the channels up here.

I actually use bigger baits sometimes in colder water because I'm targeting big blue cats. I'm usually going to release the fish anyway, so I sacrifice numbers of fish in hopes of catching a really big one. (don't like to clean fish when it's freezing outside, harder to do with numb hands). I may not catch the smaller fish that are nibbling the bait, but when that pole finally does double over I know a pretty big cat is on the other end.
