Only good fishing in Northern IL is on Rivers, as there are few lakes. The lakes are also waaaay over-fished because of the small size, and numbers.

All of my good fishing is done on Rivers and most of my fishing in general is. I'd always pick a river over a smaller overfished man made lake.

Hey Little Brother Harley, Welcome to the Brotherhood and good job on the whites. My favorite place to fish is the Arkansas River but I ain't been doing so good lately but it will pick up, I hope.

I'd say that 99% of my fishing is in rivers. Mostly the Mighty Mississippi.

For catfish, I certainly prefer a river. Since, IMO, it is much easier to find them (for me anyway).

I love fishing rivers, they are a lot easier to read then reserviors, lakes and ponds if you don't have a boat and depth finder and all that.

I have fished many rivers and caught many different fish in them. Keep trying you'll get into the fish before long.

I'd fish rivers but there aint none around So Ca.. All the lakes are pretty good sized and all fead by the California Aqueduct. The rivers that are here are coming down out of the mountains and not known for catfishing. Theres some irrigation canals like the All American that are good but if you drive that far then you may as well fish The Colorado
