When targeting large cats, I use the following equipment........

    9 & 10' rods (Penn & Berkley)
Large spinning reels ( Penn & Okuma)
Large Baitcasters ( Penn & Okuma)
    20# mono mainline----30# hook leader----12# Sinker leader (3-way rig)
    9/0 King Kahle hooks
    Live Bluegills or fresh cutbaits.

When targeting smaller cats such as channels....I go with my 7' rods( Ugly Sticks) and smaller hooks.

For my everyday (well whenever I fish days LOL) I have a white uglystick (M/H)and a black (M) one with 6500 C3's on them (both 7ft). I need to get another one cause the top eyelet on the black one is missing the plastic thingie.

I have a 9ft Glow stick with a 9000 that I have not used that much but would like to get it out more this year.

Other than that I have a couple of spinners and closed faced

I use Penn reels mostly, would like to have a few more Abu Garcia 7000s, but they are a little more expensive than what I want to pay. The rods are Catfish Safari rods and Shakespeare Ugly Stik Tigers. As far as terminal tackle, I use a variety of hooks from 7/0,8/0,9/0 and 10/0 Eagle Claw King Kahles to 8/0 Gamakatsu Octopus Circles and Daiichi 7/0 Circle Chunk Lights. I use Berkley Big Game 40lb mono line and Sufix 50lb leader line.

I'm up to 2 6500C, a 209 Penn, all on mixed up stuff. 1 diawa rod, 1 berkley, and 1 south bend. Have a truck load of bass rigs but won't include them here. I'm cruzin ebay in search of St. Croix rods as i love the one's i bass fish with. As far as hooks, i use gama Kayle and circles and usually use shad or live bream for bait. It's gonna take a while to obtain everything i want but have got a start on the reels.

Here is a list of most of what I run for flatheads and channels on the rivers and lakes for each season....
I used to have close to 20 cat outfits, but have downsized to only what I use on a regular basis now for different situations. Here's what I run....

    1. Abu Garcia 10000 Big Game reel/ 40lb. Berkley Big Game Mono/
St. Croix Classic Cat Series rod 8' Heavy Power / Mod-Fast Action

    2. Abu Garcia 10000 Big Game reel/ 40lb. Berkley Big Game Mono/
St. Croix Premier Series rod 6'9" Heavy Power / Fast Action

    3. Abu Garcia 7000 reel/ 30lb. Berkley Big Game Mono/
St. Croix Premier Series rod 7'6" Heavy Power/ Fast Action

    4. Abu Garcia 6500 reel/ 65lb. Power Pro Braid/
St. Croix Premier Series rod 6'6" Med/ Heavy Power/ Fast Action

    5.Abu Garcia 6500 reel/ 65lb Power Pro Braid/
St. Croix Premier Series rod 7' Heavy Power/ Fast Action

    6. Shimano Triton 200G reel/ 40lb. Berkley Big Game Mono/
St. Croix Premier Series rod 5'8" Extra Heavy Power/ Fast Action

    7. Abu Garcia 6000 reel/ 30lb. Berkley Big Game Mono/
    Berkley E-Cat #4 rod 7'6"

    8. Abu Garcia 6000 reel/ 30lb. Berkley Big Game Mono/
Bass Pro Series IM 7 rod 7' Extra Heavy Action

    9. Shimano Bait-Runner 4600/ 30lb. Berkley Big Game Mono/
Eagle Claw Spinning Surf rod 11'

I have some other spinning outfits for long casting, but they haven't seen much time on the water the past few seasons. As you can tell, I really like the St. Croixs, Garcias, and the Big Game Monos:wink: thats my arsenal...... rollo
