How far is the cavitation plate supposed to be under the water on a pontoon? I read that the plate should be even w/the keel on a boat but wondering about a pontoon. The water line is about half way down on the pontoons and the prop is about a foot under the water right now, I was just wondering after looking at it, I know they wont get on plane just wondering if it matters how far they are mounted down and which hole the mounting brkt should be on??? anybody know if raising it will help it run faster??? any help would be appreciated.....

I have mine about 2 inches below the water line on the toon. The biggest problem is if to high then you will have lots of blow outs. I normally set mine where it gets the best service.
