Had a good day, yesterday, on hog liver...while dressing the fish, I found eggs in a couple of channels.

Any theories on what that's all about?

Were you fishing a river, or lake.

Lake. I would guess the water temp to be around 40.

Channels normally spawn in June, here.

Best answer I found was from Ronnie Garrison on about.com article called appropiatley"fish egg development in winter".To paraphrase it the fish start egg development in the fall in order to be ready to lay in the spring when the water temp gets just right.gives them a head start.
