Eels in the Altamaha River

    when i was home on R&R i caught a bunch on gray colored eels in the altamaha river right under the bridge to jessup. i was wondering if anyone knew what they were and if they were any good to eat?

    They are called American eels.I have heard they are migratory but not sure.

    I wouldn't eat one! Slimy little buggers. Cut them up and use them for bait. Cats love'um

    sorry bro I missed part of the question.
    yes you can eat them.skin them just like you do a catfish and cut into 1" cubes or
    fillet and debone them.
    it's a mental thing with me.
    they taste good.
    but my mind wont let me do it.LOL
