My buddy Tim and I went to the Edisto last Saturday. We ran up to the first slough to start fishing for sunfish for baits and found out that the trolling motor wouldn't run. Oh well, made things a bit frustrating, but we got a decent batch of baits. We each caught a few blue cats, mostly around 10 pounds or a little more, but we only got two flatheads. Actually, Tim got 2 flatheads, I got none. His first was a cute little guy around 3 pounds, but about 11:30 he got a nice 46 pound fish (same spot Bob "Cuda Cada" got his big fish a few months ago). I've enclosed pics of the sunset and of Tim's good fish. He had a bit of a wound on his head, as you can see, but was a pretty healthy fat fish. The bats were out in numbers, and we enjoyed a nice night with a few shooting stars thrown in for fun. If the hurricanes give us a break and I can get my trolling motor figured out, I'll be back out soon. Water temp was around 85 at dusk.
