4 eaters, :D

Well 3 and a half eaters, caught a little bullhead that swallowed the hook. If wasn't mortaly wounded I woulda tossed him back, he's good for a few bites anyway. I made some stinky bait, but I didn't thicken it enough so we caught all of these on hotdogs and bacon smothered in parmasaen and garlic powder. My boy caught one, I caught the other three. The boy woulda caught more but he was tired so he went and fell asleep on the grass. The biggest one was caught right before we left. I figured one more cast, had lost 3 rigs to snags, well the sinkers anyway. That fish was on before the bait even hit the bottom. Went to set the pole down and felt a tug so I crossed his eyes. :006:

Here's the cats

Have you ever used marshmallow melted and smeared on a hotdog slice and then coated with garlic salt? It's good for eating size cats. :D
That sounds like a lot of work. What do you do, melt the marshmallows and pour them over pre-sliced hotdogs and let them dry? Does sound like something cats would eat though.
Nice fish, it is always good to take the kids out with ya. They are the future of our sport. :D
Yeah, there's nothing better than watching a kid catch fish. All my 5 year old wants to do is fish. Little guy would rather sleep in the boat on the lake than in his bed, I think. He also likes to catch perfect bait size bluegill, so he's kind of handy to have around as well :)

Never tried hotdogs, with or without marshmallows. Have had good luck on 1-3 lb channels using small shad.
Nice fish, good to see the kids having a great time fishing.
Nice fish, Sean.

My son always wants to go night fishing, and always falls asleep too. He also always out-fishes me.

Nice pics there, I noticed that you cooked the fish tail and all. I fillet my fish it appears you just cut the head off and gut it then deep fry? Just curious

smaller ones I skin + gut, I leave the tails and other fins on because they get all crispy and they're like chips. In fact the tails are one of my favorite parts to eat.

If they're bigger than 3-4# I'll fillet them.

teach a kid to fish, and they will remember you the rest of their life.
CAPT.KIRK :D
Sean, when I fish I'm almost always camping. Just melt the marshmallow and smear it on a hotdog, cut it and salt it and it's ready to go. The grease I guess is really attracts the cats, that and the garlic. :0a23:
Love to see kids having a great time. Congrats on having a great time afield with the kids. God bless.

While we're on the subject of fish lol (i dont feel like starting a thread) Has anyone evere fished a slew. Im going to try this sunday morning and want to see if anyone elese has had any luck. By the way for those of you who dont know what a slew, is it is the backwaters of a river where there usually isnt much current. The slew that i am going to try is a dirt boat ramp off of the Apalchicola River here in Florida. Thanx
