Last year I was fishing down the bank from these guys that were fishing for cats with a slip float setup. They were using these black nylon leaders by Eagle Claw with 5/0 hooks. I think they were Saltwater or something, not too sure. They dont have any snap swivels like some of those leaders, but have a barrel swivel that ties to the main line. Are these good to use for a quick change leader and do they hold big cats?

I've seen these at wal mart, and I am 99 percent sure that if you are talking about what I think you are, they are made out of wire. For cats I dont like to use wire because if the line rubs against their skin, it will cut them up, or scrape them. Not to mention if you gut hook one, you cant cut the line if you need to.

Sounds like wire leaders to me also. Barbel made some good points to the downside of using them.
