I finally got away from work and went fishing today. The river was on the rise and shad were plentiful. I thought it was going to be a good day. I caught 27 fish in 5 hours, not a single one was a catfish, all drum. I reeled in drum after drum after drum after drum and so on. They were fun to catch but I wish they were cats.

I don't fool with them, but if filleted immediatly, put on ice, the blackened, they are very good eating!

we caught a mess of drum last week at the red river below denison dam. some were over 20 pounds. caught some good cats too, so i didn't mind catching the drum. we were using cut shad too.
