What tackle, rigs, hooks, spots, and bait do you use for them?
What kind of drum are you talking about? Freshwater, reds, blacks?
Well for freshwater drum..............I don't fish for them, but they end up on my hook with a carolina rig and nightcrawlers. I guess they didn't get the memo about me being after catfish
I've caught them dudes often with jig, live minnow, spinners, nightcrawler various lures, while game fishing. I've caught them around tree jam-ups in rivers while virticle jigging for crappie etc. it seems they like alot of the same hangouts as crappie do from what I've noticed. I think they make good live and cutbaits? I also heard they werent much good for eating?:confused2:
I've also caught them on worms and while crappie jigging. NEver intentionally.
I catch drum in the river, around here they are hard to beat for flathead bait, usually I use light tackle and small hooks like you would use for perch about a foot deep under a bobber with a small piece of nightcrawler or small bugs that are found along the river bank
