That's a shame.
Thats bad! I hate to hear that. My brother passed that way over 20 years ago.
When we left up at the lake on Sunday morning the wind was bad and there was waves white capping and that makes for a bad day to go swimming even for a good swimmer. I hate to hear about a drowning of any kind, thats to me a really bad way to die but there is probably no such a thing as a good way.
I, too, lost a good childhood friend to drowning years ago. He jumped into a small river to retrieve his pocketknife. His hair tangled in bottom snag. Another friend almost drowned when he jumped into the rapids of a creek and was pulled into a cavity under a rock by the swift current.
We always have a tendency to underestimate the power of current and dangers of a waterway. We also tend to overestimate our strength and swimming ability. A word of warning to the younger members...
Seen that on the news this morning, we were just out there. Sad news.
Just heard that someone else drowned in the Scioto, in Ross county.
Everyone be careful and safe while fishing.
