I have 12 Driftmaster rodholders and 6 white plastic "Torpedo Launcher" rodholders on my boat. By far, my favorite is the Driftmaster. They hold the rod in one of two positions securely, and the rod can be removed from the rodholder under pressure of a hard-running fish.

The "Torpedo Launcher" style allows the rod to be held at a 60 degree angle, perfect for trolling. Unfortunately, one has been snapped from it's mount by a running catfish. The plastic version of this old design has no place on a serious catfishing boat. I'm in the process of replacing the plastic ones with stainless Steel.

    Albert,

I like drift-masters myself, I recently shifted to a rocket rack, and it is doing pretty good!
