Driftmaster bases

    Has/Does anyone use the Driftmaster side mount bases for jon boat gunnels? If so, how do they hold up? Would you recommend them?

    Matt, I guess you know, but those bases are made for use on rails like a pontoon has. If you can fasten them securely to your boat, they should be solid. I've used the standard star bases for a number of years without a problem.
    Suggestion: email or give those folks a call. They are great to deal with, and they will tell you the skinny; maybe even have a better alternative. I'm surprised they don't make one to fit the gunwale grooves that many aluminum boats have. Maybe nobody's brought it to their attention... They are pretty innovative...

    They make one that works like a C clamp for that type of application.It is pictured on the back of there packages.
