Has anyone tried trolling live shad (or other baits) using a downrigger in 30+ foot water? Does anyone have an opinion as to this technique's effectiveness when compared with bottom fishing using live shad? My thought is to troll a main channel of a large resevoir. Insight or imput please.

Sorry about the avatar. I personally liked it but agree that we need to follow the rules.

Hopefully there will be more people who have experience or opinions with downrigging for cats that have some suggestions. Any input?
