Get you some alfalfa from farmer or pet store the pellets work just as good (for rabbits and gerbals) Get old blender unless your wife will not kill you for using hers!! 2 cups of alfalfa, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, 3 tablespoons of anise (make sure not illegal in your state) then enough water to make one big ball. Then sprinkle with borax and work into the ball make dough into small balls and put on trebles with or without springs sprinkle again with borax put in baggie and ya ready!!! The borax makes the dough balls like leather!!! :smile2:

I have used alfalfa bait just about like yours but I have never used the borax, I have had very good luck on mine. I have gotten my alfalfa from a grain mill.:

I've used rabbit pellets before; FYI canned spinach does just as well.

I knew I was forgetting something to my formula. But I used anise. But make sure it isnt illegal in your state. Cause you can smell it a mile away!!

I know this is a carp thread, but,,,,,,,,,I actually stopped using vanilla extract in my recipe because I caught fewer carp without it, but still caught the buffs (what I really wanted).

Several years ago my fishin buddie back then used some anise oil in a couple of batches of doughballs and they worked well for channels and buffs. But it was expensive stuff.
