i was watching mythbusters last night and they stuck their entire hand into a pot of hot lead and did NOT burn their hand one bit. however there was a lot of science that they put behind how they did it. I would suggest NO ONE TRY THIS AT HOME!!! but i found a you tube vid with some one else doing it and i thought you all would get a kick out of it. like i said DO NOT try this at home.

Jeremy I work with lead all the time.. My work requires it.. we use lead on the job to cure the jackets on the cable we make... we in case the cable we make in lead and then put the cable in a vulcanizing unit to cook and cure the rubber jacket on the cable. We have several super large lead kettles and our largest one is a 40 ton kettle.

I pour my own sinkers as well as get with others to pour at my home or at lead pouring gatherings. We have a blast at the gatherings and it looks like the plans are in the works to try and schedule another one soon here in Arkansas.

The other night when you were in chat and were asking about lead falling and breaking.... Well that is usually because you've gotten it too hot. When lead is too hot it crystallizes and will break apart. Like the guys told you to combat that pour slower between pours once your mold is hot. Also drop your lead into a bucket of water to quick cool them will help some too. Just remember to watch yourself when ya drop them in as water will go to a flash boil when it gets in contact with hot lead and well explode hot water or hot lead all over yourself.

Hope this info helped you some.
