Is this just a local saying or have y'all heard of this?

Well when I went to work today, it was about 70 and just right. Well the temp started dropping around 4 or 5 and it's probably about 40 now. While walking the dog, I noticed my white dogwood is going to pop open a few blooms tomorrow, so it dawned on me that it must be dogwood winter. LOL.
The weather here has been hot, cold, hot, cold, hot and quite moody for the last 2 months.

Let's see how many more winters do we have to go thru?

    Blackberry winter

Anyone got anymore? Heck it's a wonder there's not a strawberry winter. ...

P.S. The moon is beautiful tonight and getting fuller. Large billowy clouds moving past the stars and moon.

I've not heard of a dogwood winter, but the folks in the mountains near you would say, "It's time to catfish when the dogwoods bloom".

Your area is the only place I've ever seen pink dogwoods grafted onto a white dogwood tree.

I've got 5 dogwood trees in the yard and they all bloomed this past week.
