Nothing here in WV like that we still dont have any restrictions on flatheads even tho the are the most numerous gamefish in our waters. They are 3rd or 4th most populated species in our Kanawha river system with Shad and carp taking in 1st and 2nd.

Tim, not all states like Flatheads. NC has a river section that the county bordering said river, passed a county law allowing fisher person to shock and harvest the flathead. It was done to protect a type of endanger minnow and the red breasted bream. Strange, but true.

But, the state of NC did allow us in 2008 to get a regulation protecting Ark. Blues on two lakes, which are Badin and Lake Norman. You can now only have one 36" Ark. Blue in possession per day per person. We also approached them about the Flathead species and they said no way would the folks in the Eastern part of the state go for that. They like their red breasted bream more than their Flatheads down East.
