Do shad...

    school around a boat when its in the water (in one spot) or do they hide

    im asking under conditions of during the day, summer, and kinda humid and using a cast net

    I think they just swim around where they want, or wherever they're chased. I've had enormous schools of shad swim around the boat, but I don't think they were attracted to the boat or anything.

    In open fresh and salt water I think bait fish will "hold" around a "quiet" boat simply because it is the only cover available.There is no way to really know is there?When they do hold around us we never know how they would have held without the boat.I know large saltwater fish often hold around boats and ships.I love you Brothers and Sisters.peewee

    seen it before....

    we would just idle for about 10 minutes in one place someone would be ready with the net....we would move the boat forward and throw the net behind the boat and sure enough the threadfins would be there...

    worked in the deep open water not sure if it would work in a cove or shallow water....
