I have a good cheese bait recipe that catches catfish well. But here is my problem making it stiff Like Doc's or Sonny's . Can anyone tell me what to put in it to make it sticky? Thanks

I would try salt, salt seems to make prepared baits more spongey

Peanut Butter will thicken it up. I have used it before.

find ya some cat tails and mix them up in it or you can use flour to thickin it up.

I agree with James, cattails are the best way to go if your using trebble hooks. Actually real cat hair works pretty good as well.

If your having good luck with the liver, why put peanut butter or anything thing else on it that would alter the smell of the liver.
I do agree however that cattail or flour would be helpful to your cause.

You want to go with the "Flour".

When ever my dip is runny, I was told to just add Flour to it - and I been do it for years now.
    (It's works & you can't beat it)

Forgot to mention this, but if your having the opposite problem and the bait is a little stiff on a cool morning just add some vegetable oil to just the amount you will need before it warms up. this will thin it down some so you can get a hook in it.

Depend on how much you make but put some cotton balls in the bait and stir it up good so the bait mixes in good to the cotton balls. Then put one on th treble hook and it stays on good
