thought i would share this little trick that i came up with to get un-snaged. i used to keep a big round ball-bobber in my boat to do this trick but i found that a soda bottle is much more boyant and works much better. first of all you need a plastic soda/water bottle, then a snap swivel, a barrel swivel, and about 8 inches of line. photo's are pretty self explanitory on how to make it up, just put the barrel swivel in the bottle and twist the cap back on the bottle making sure its airtight. snap the "snap" swivel onto your line, let it drift in the current about 15-20ft past where your snag'ed, and then jerk like hell about 3 times. if your hung into wood with the hook really good then this may not work but i have about a 95% retreival rate where i fish with rocks and concrete. i have used this with some success while bankfishing but it not as effective as out of a boat.
