Me and 2 buddys of mine found a spot on the wabash where there are gar like crazy. and after catchin a few of em were all hooked on em. We were catfishin when we cought with shrimp and cut shad. anyone ever used bass gear like crankbaits and spinners for gar? i kno about the rope lure but i couldnt get em to bite on the one i made out of a jitterbug. im gunna make one out of a deep diving crankbait once i find some rope. would the lures work if i used a spinnerbait or a crankbait? thanks

I made one out of a Little Cleo spoon, but I haven't tried it out yet. A spoon might be a better option than the crankbait because you'll be able to fish it at what ever depth is needed

rooster tails and spoons always work best for me.
