I went fishing at Burke Lake, and caught a half dozen channels between a half pound to two pounds, in about two and a half hours. I must have missed about that many too. Caught two turtles too. It got so busy at one point, I had to stop using three rods. The fish were just crushing the chicken liver and stink bait(charlie type A). Then just as fast as they were biting, they stopped about 9:30 or so. All in all a great trip. This was by far the best outing I have had at Burke.

Now that kind of fishing is fun when you get so many that you actually dont know which pole to grab.

Ya it is. And, on some of the hits, the poles were being pulled into the water, the fish were hitting so hard, some of them I missed!

    Congratulations, Tom!

Hmmm... You're making me seriously consider spend the gas to head over there to Burke Lake and see what happens! :smile2:

I don't know if it was a one time thing or not. If you followed the fishing reports the lake is a great for catfishing, but as I said, this is the first time I have had any success there. I would give it a shot, and if you like, maybe we can try to met there one night.

Thanks y'all. I hope y'all do well the next time out too. The weather forecast up this way is not looking too good for this weekend, but I hope to get out at some point.
