I have a 9' Eliminator spinning rod rated 1-6 oz. What would be a good reel to put on it?

    Thanks

Best advice I can give you is go to the sporting goods store and look at what you like. Get what you can afford.

It depends on how big of fish you plan on going after. A monster rod like that can handle very large fish. If you want to fish exclusively for big cats, I'd look for a reel that can hold lots of large test line; 20# diameter or larger. If you plan on using this rod for catching all sizes of catfish, I would suggest a medium sized reel that can hold a decent amount of up to 20# diameter line.

Best thing to do would be to go to a tackle store and try out different reels. You can get a good idea of what you want by checking sites online also. Sites like Cabelas, Bass Pro Shop, and Catfish Connection have all kinds of reels in various sizes and prices.
