Anyone ever used these reels?! I'm thinking of buying a couple, possibly 4 to replace some of my old reels.

I have not used this reel, but have used a lot of Diawa reels in the past and had no problems. I would guess this is a line counter bait caster. If it is I will be looking at them when I purchase an 1197 SI Hummingbird. I think a line counter reel would be a must with good sonar. I wish I had a better answer for you but I don't.

I have 2 of the 27 series, just got them this season. So far they seem to be the best depth counter reels. This for a few reasons they are not big and bulky like a lot of line counters and this is the first depth counter that I found actually is accurate in the number of feet. I have not used these for cats but I used them all year for walleyes. No complaints, I've used Okuma,Cabelas, gander mountain and a few others and these are the best.

jimmy-catch up with dudley-1. Sam had two of the older models and just got two of the newer models.
They seem to be pretty popular with the striper guys.
