Stainless steel destroyer steering wheels, they are sharp but can be pricey.
Worth the cash or not?
Are you going to be able to look at that cheap plastic POS, and not think about what might have been?:smile2:
I have a fairly nice one with a nice cushy grip. Looks like an old dunebuggy wheel.
I have never laid hand on a SSDW, but I do like the looks.
Sounds to me like you like what you already have just fine.
I went through a phase years ago where I was putting rope on just about everything...I would have put turk's heads on the cat, if she would have tolerated it.:smile2:If you have any inclination towards decorative ropework, you can really go nutz with the ss wheel.
YES, they are !!!, I've got one on my boat. I put a "suicide knob" on it & love it.
It's been on for over 5 yrs, both salt & fresh water usage & looks like the day I installed it.
I just got one a 5 spoke SS wheel with the built in spinner knob brand new fer $35, from the locol marine shop.......winter deal !
