I'd like to help ya out but I don't fish the delaware for them. All I know is there are more of them in the tidal portion. Probabaly near structure and use shad, herring, or sunnies. A lot of guys catch them fishing for stripers.
I ve heard that biologists think that flatheads are well established in the delaware but no one is targeting them.
what kind of structure riverhark? hard cover like wood, pilings or rock? or main river structure like holes and channel bends etc.
id like to give it a try and think i have a few spots but who knows

Well Jim, Sounds like you just gave yourself some good suggestions on spots. The more you fish your river for them the more you'll learn. Some of my favorite spots are shallower feeding areas at night near deep snaggy holes. Under cirtain river conditions do I consider either the inside or outside bends for my river. I would hit some of those bridge pilings and scan with a fish finder for starters. If fishing is slow keep one rod out for flats and one for something that might be hungrier to pass the time untill the big one bites.

thanks wayne.. theres gotta be bigger ones out there. the state record is 33lbs from lake hopatcong, but i think the river holds bigger fish than that. the rivers got good numbers of double digit fish and i think it could have the record somewhere
