Deer liver

    Anybody ever used deer liver for bait? I throw away several, but never tryed it.

    I'm interested in this answer also. My son in law is a big deer hunter and I would have immediate access to deer liver.

    Deer liver is excellent bait. It freezes well, catches fish, and is tough as a boot...almost impossible to throw it off.

    Maybe I'm fishing the wrong places Ihave some in the fridge and have'nt caught one on it yet Maybe I will take some and try it this week:sad2:

    Ed, I don't think it will outfish fresh-caught cut bait, but in the winter, when bait can be hard to come by, venison liver is good to have.

    I use deer liver and it works well. I cut it up into squares and freeze it.
