Hi everyone. I live in Western Kentucky, but I have family in Dayton Ohio. I have an Aunt in Dayton named Madge Allen who has been confined to a wheelchair for several years now. She has been diagnosed with the deadly disease Lupus. I just learned that the other day her son Scott Ledford took her fishing at one of the local Paylakes in the area. She was using what they called a yellow belly catfish. I guess that is some kind of Bullhead? She caught her biggest catfish ever!!!!!!! A 30 Lb. shovelhead (flathead). I just wanted to share that with you. I dont know what paylake they were at....but everyone came over as she was fighting it in. I wish I could have been there. I have requested to be sent some pictures ....so maybe I can post some pics soon. Thanks!!!!

It's great that she is striving to live life rather than resign to death. It's great that there are places that she can easily access as well. I do have this strange mental image of her sitting in her wheel chair testing the strength of the brakes as that monster tugged her line.

Willpower and the quest for life is very strong medicine. That is what keeps people going. God bless her for setting the example for us all
