Could the Dan River possibly be productive this time of year or is it too cold. I don't think anyone I fish with has ever fished it in the winter. Any fellow virginians have any clue about this?

I don't think it can get too cold. I saw an episode of the infisherman about ice fishing for channel cats. And I know the bite for big blues on the tidal river is year round. I have had some of my best days in late december and early january on the rappahanock.I would think fishing slack water and current breaks in the deeper holes would put up some fish on just about any river in the winter.
