Went down to the dam on the Walnut tonite, was about 1:00 am when I saw my pole double over. I was useing green sunfish for bait. I caught a descent Gar earlier, and when I set the hook I figured it was another Gar. It took me about five minutes to get its head up and see what it was. Thankfully it was a Flathead. It put up a real nice fight takeing drag on and off. Finally I played it out and handed the rod to Lorie so I could grab it. It was 34" long and weighed 20.0 even. It took me ten to fifteen minutes to resuscitate it. I was kinda worried it wouldnt make it. But eventually it did. The folks down from me couldnt believe I turned it back. For me it was a proud moment to show CPR. I have never seen anyone turn a fish back there. Lorie took some pics with my cellphone but my head was cutoff, lol. I took a pic of the fish on the wall of the dam, I will try and post it soon. We need a digital camera, but times are kinda hard right now. I will be back down there two or three more times this week, hope I have more to share.
