how good is carp for cutbait in search of channels?
To me its as good as cut bream. Scale, fillet sides off & cut to size baits you want. Works really good on trot, limb lines as the skin is so tough.
does it draw bites as quickly as liver or stink bait on a rod and reel?
i havnt tried it but i dont think they hit as fast as they would with stink baits from what i have heard
Michael, I've had very good luck using cut Carp for bait. Some days it's better than other baits, I've had it outfish Goldeye, shad and other baits. Some days it doesn't hardly work at all. But overall I rate it as an excellent Catfish bait. The ones I prefer are about 8 to 10 inches long, I freeze them, then thaw just enough to cut about 1/4 inch thick slices crossways, guts and all, but the fillets also work good. Hope this helps you catch the "Biggun".
