I first learned about using Skip Jack for bait this past Spring and caught some really nice fish with it. For me it seems that as the Summer has came on that the fish quit biting on it and Shad and Bluegill are the only thing that will work. I fish alot below the local dam here and that's the only place I've ever had any luck with them and they've even quit biting down there now. Is using skip more of a seasonable bait? All the places I've fished I've tried skip, bluegill and shad and the skip's just didn't produce any action.

I have success with skipjack spring through fall; I haven't done enough winter fishing to be able to comment. But I'm mainly targeting blues; flatheads will hit cut bait much better in the spring than the rest of the year. And I don't care how good of a bait you have, there are going to be times when the cats just don't want it. Some other bait may tear 'em up.....or not.
