i know this is going to be a stupid question but i'm good at those.when you use cut carp do you descale them or just cut into chunks or do you kind of filet them then cut into chunks?

I remove the scales. This allows more oils and scent to drift off your bait.

The carp i do get i usually just cut the in chunks. I dont descale them or anything but that is my way of doing it but i dont use to many carp for bait. Unless i catch small ones in a throw net and then i put them on live. Hope this helps

I always descale carp or buffalo. It does add more scent and also gives the bait some movement in the water especially if you're using strips instead of chunks. The more surface area of bloody flesh the more scent is left in the water.

I like to fillet the carp then cut them into strips... put a small cork a few inches infront of the hook but below your weight to keep the bait up off the bottom..
