While fishing last friday I was using cut bluegill . While rebaiting a pole I scaled a blue gill and cut a fillet off it . I baited up the fillet and sent it out . Did not take 10 minutes and had a nice fish on . Started doing the rest of them this way and caught alot of cats all night long . The regular cut bait chunks did not see action . Anyone else use cut bait this way ?

It really depends on the size of the gill. I a larger one and I will fillet it, but a smaller one I just chunk up. And I too also like gill heads

When you fillet the blue gill leave the rib bones in the fillet. that help to stay on the hook. weave your hook through the rib bones and it stays on the hook . and the head is good bait too.
